What type of work and size of jobs do you handle?

What do I as the customer need to do before you start work?

We will advise you depending on the exact nature of the project as to what our requirements are.  Likewise we will take into account any of your needs.

We are very attentive and ensure that those small but important issues are dealt with, for example:

  • Making sure that there is a working WC available throughout
  • Clearing the space after we have finished work
  • Making sure that dirt and disruption are kept to a minimum
  • Not traipsing across your carpets in dirty boots
  • Turning off the water or power at times convenient to you
  • Etc.

Once work has commenced

Will you turn up on the day you state?

Yes we will, and we will stay until we have finished the project.

Will you turn up on time? 

Yes, usually 8am start until 4.30pm. PROMPTLY

Will you look after my home? 

Yes we will fit dust sheets from the front door through to the work area in question to protect the floor coverings.

What happens at the end of the day? 

We will remove all our dust sheets, vacuum, and leave our work space tidy.

What if I am at work all day? 

We can meet you the evening before and collect keys, and lock up at the end of the day.  Any work-related discussions can be conducted by phone/email during the day.

I have pets which share the house!

We are pet friendly, and will make sure their needs are attended to, as required by you.

Yes, we are have liability insurance to the amount of £1 million.

Pricing

How do you price your jobs?

Quite simply, we provide fixed price written estimates following a site visit and discussion with the client.

I find builders quotes technical and difficult to understand?

We go out of our way to explain the detail of our quotes and explain with examples what is involved.

Building regulations

What about building regulations?

We will advise if inspections by the Council's Building Control department are required, which varies according to the exact nature of the project.

However, irrespective of whether or not inspections are needed, all our work is carried out to the same high standard.

Kitchens

Do you provided a design service? 

Yes we provide help planning and designing your kitchen with pictures and diagrams.

Can you carry out ALL the works required for a finished job?

Yes, from dismantling the old kitchen to decorating the new one.

Can I move the sink?

Yes, provided water and waste pipes are movable.

Can I move the cooker?

Yes, provided gas or electric can be relocated.

Can my extractor fan duct to the exterior?

Yes, if it is on an exterior wall or within ducting range.

Can I move my ceiling lighting?

Yes, if access above the ceiling is available, or if the ceiling is to be renewed.

Can I have additional sockets?

Yes, if the wiring is up to the extra load.

My walls are not straight!

These can be re-plastered.

My ceiling is covered in Artex!

This can be plastered over to give a flat surface.

My floor in uneven!

This can be re-levelled.

Bathrooms

I do not know how to improve my bathroom!

We will provided suggestions and advice about products and design, for suites, lighting, tiles and fittings.

My bathroom is already tiled and will need replastering before tiling!

This is quite normal and can be easily achieved.

Can I move the WC to a new position? 

This will depend on the soil stack position, being restricted to a close proximity.

Can I move the bath/shower/basin to a new position?

Yes, the moving of a bath/shower/basin is more flexible due to smaller waste pipes that are utilised.

Can I have new ceiling lighting? 

Yes, provided there is access above the light, or the ceiling is be renewed.

Can I turn my bathroom into a wet room? 

Yes, this will involve relevelling the floor to provide a floor drain.

Can I have a power shower? 

This will depend on your water supply/hot water tank, capacity and flow rates.

Can I have a tiled floor?

Yes, on solid floors, and also on wooden floors provided they are reinforced with plywood.

Will I be able to use the WC while the work is being carried out?

Usually a second WC is required, but when only one is in a household, then a WC will be left working at the end of each working day.
